Congratulations to our new Principal: Dr. Qi Zhang!

Baxter IP is proud to formally announce the elevation of Dr. Qi Zhang to Principal. Qi joined Baxter IP in September 2016 as an Associate.

Managing Director, Chris Baxter, said that “this is a well deserved promotion as Qi has developed strong relationships with clients and associates, in particular in southeast Asia. Qi is very active with internal firm development work, bringing his energy and focus to building our capability and profile.”

Qi’s career commenced in China where he worked at one of the top patent attorney firms after completing his Ph.D in electrical engineering in 2005, working with major international clients including Motorola, Samsung, 3M, GE and Yamaha. Qi moved to the USA where he furthered his education in the IP field by completing a Master degree in Intellectual Property Management & Markets. In 2012, Qi moved to Sydney joining a large patent attorney firm where he qualified as an Australian patent attorney.
