Nicholas Milne is a registered Australian patent and trade marks attorney and a registered New Zealand patent attorney specialising in drafting of patent specifications, local and international patent prosecution and patent oppositions.

Prior to joining Baxter IP, Nicholas was employed for a number of years at a large Sydney-based IP firm where he applied his Engineering skills in the fields of electronics and computer engineering, computer science and semiconductors in searching patent records, preparation, filing, and prosecuting of patent applications, drafting of patent specifications, providing advice on the interpretation, validity and infringement of patents and conducting patent oppositions for both Australian and overseas clients.

Nicholas Milne Senior Associate Patent AttorneyPreviously, Nicholas worked as a registered professional engineer in South Africa where he practiced in the design, development and deployment of industrial control software platforms and hardware for the mining industry.

Nicholas was awarded his Masters Degree in Industrial Property from the University of Technology, Sydney, his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of South Africa and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Cape Town, where he graduated with first class honours.

Nicholas is a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ).

Additionally, Nicholas is a director of IP Monitor, an intellectual property software company having successfully brought to market a ipmonitor.com.au, an online tool for IP professionals for generating custom intellectual property reports for keeping abreast with patent and trademark developments in Australia and other jurisdictions, used by patent and trademark professionals the world over.
