Information Memorandum (IM)

Baxter IP’s IM service creates professional IMs for clients, promoting their business, product and financial information in such a way as to generate maximum interest from prospective investors.

Specifically, your IM will include:

  1. An executive summary
  2. Current product information within the context of the development lifecycle and new product information
  3. An explanation of your business model, its future direction and current milestones
  4. A summary of your current intellectual property position
  5. A synopsis of your market analysis and marketing plan, focussing on your unique selling proposition and growth potential
  6. Financial projections
  7. A risk assessment detailing factors that may cause variation in expected ROI
  8. The investment offer, including how much capital is being raised, the equity on offer, an explanation of how the capital will be used and the proposed exit strategy.

Your IM will be in the form of an electronic A4 pdf brochure approximately 12-18 pages in length and will include a professional layout by a graphic designer.

Investor Pitch

Raising seed capital for product development is usually challenging and entrepreneurs are not always successful. By working with Baxter IP, you will gain access to a network of angel investors, venture capitalists and private equity firms and thus significantly improve your chances of securing an investor.

Baxter IP’s investor pitch service involves preparing a concise one page Opportunity Summary which is then sent to a carefully selected group of investors for consideration. The Opportunity Summary will state your:

  1. Corporate Structure
  2. Type of product or service and unique selling proposition
  3. Commercialisation path
  4. Current intellectual property position
  5. Investment highlights
  6. The investment offer and proposed exit strategy

If the Opportunity Summary successfully generates interest, the next step is to prepare a professional Information Memorandum, if you have not already done so, and to forward this to the interested investors. Any subsequent discussions then take place directly with the interested investors.

Government Grant Application Preparation

Baxter IP’s government grant submission process aims to assist clients in early business stages through acquiring financial assistance from the government.

Government grants are issued under the COMET (Commercialising Emerging Technologies) program. COMET assistance is available for up to 2 years and is commonly used to fund market analysis costs, business plan development costs, IP strategic/searching/filing costs and other costs associated with the start-up phase of commercialising an invention.

COMET financial assistance for companies is available through a two-tier funding structure. Tier 1 grants are up to $64000 in value at a rate of assistance of 80% of total expenditure. Tier 2 grants are up to $56000 in value at a rate of assistance of 50% of total expenditure. Grants to individuals are limited to $5000.
